I started Big Mama Bear Coaching because I wanted to have the opportunity to work with early stage company founders, entrepreneurs and business-owners-in-the-making, those who dare to dream big, aim high by having the courage (or madness) to start something new.
I am most inspired by those who dare to do all of this while juggling family obligations with their desire to create something bigger than themselves, a business that will sustain and outlast them and make their community and world a better place. Most often – although not always, hats off to the men who fit this profile – those business owners are women, often mothers balancing raising young children and caring for aging parents with their business aspirations.
As a Big Mama Bear of 4 aged 4-15 and a business owner myself, I am experienced in the “doing of it” and uniquely qualified to be of service as an advisor and coach to others on this path. I understand the challenges, the difficulties, obstacles and rewards of business ownership. And I understand that someone’s life dream is tied to their life, not separate. So I coach to support the business and the individual running the business in equal measure.
The Big Mama Bear name and logo were inspired by the grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) whose “Mama” is known to be strong, intelligent and a fierce protector of her own. All of those qualities are required when you start a business, and the business is the “baby” you grow, defend and protect.

In the early days of a new business the enterprise is typically inseparable from its founder. Big Mama Bear was founded to provide business and life to those early stage companies and their owners, entrepreneurs, merchants and service providers serving the local community.
